About Us

The origin of Journey

Journey is a sister company of D2, a professional full-service video production company located in metrowest Boston. D2 was born and raised on the high-wire of live TV broadcasting.  Today, over 20 years later, we offer extensive services in remote production, studio production, and field and post production.

Our clients have always enjoyed our unique high-touch brand of service; to many, we are not only trusted advisors, but also close personal friends. Journey was born from a market need in providing that approach to the growing industry of IP video transmission. We built Journey to develop best-in-class technology, and to deliver it with best-in-class service. We are proud of what we have become, and prouder still of the team that has brought us here.

President and CEO

Dave Walzer is a highly respected 35-year veteran of the video production industry. As a longtime producer, director, and technical director, Dave has a natural affinity for the demanding world of live production. His calm, steady, self-assured leadership style is a perfect counterpoint to the hectic and high-pressure atmosphere of live news and sports broadcasting. Since co-founding D2 over 20 years ago, he has produced, directed, and managed thousands of live broadcasts and webcasts around the world. Dave also manages D2's extensive array of production services, including mobile production trucks, a satellite uplink truck, a production studio, field shooting, editing, and live streaming services. Dave is a graduate of Syracuse University.

Dan Boland
DIRECTOR OF SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Before any H.264 device existed in broadcast, Dan adapted video conferencing systems to support live contribution. ESPN adopted the solution for NFL/NBA Drafts as did NFL Network for Total Access. Dan was brought into collaboration with Sony and paired MPLS with the first HD H.264 appliance to deliver new contribution platforms for ESPN’s 16 Analysts, NASCAR and BTN. Dan also cofounded AzzurroIP establishing fully managed Virtual NOC services for NFL and MLB Networks. As the contribution market moves to Internet, Dan is poised to bring Journey’s new and unique value into a market he knows well.
